Sarita "Sara" Ruiz Whitford

Sarita "Sara" Ruiz Whitford was born March 5, 1951 in Uvalde, Texas to Aurora Basurto (Trujillo) and Juan Flores Ruiz. She passed from this life Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Jefferson County Hospital at the age of 72. She and Wayne Whitford were married August 29, 1970 in Waurika, Oklahoma. She worked over 19 years as an assembler for Nocona Athletic Goods.She was a volunteer for many years helping immigrants fill out and file their immigration paperwork. She was a member of the San Jose Catholic Church in Ryan where she taught C.C.D. classes for over 20 years. She also enjoyed making tamales with the ladies of the church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and making jewelry. She enjoyed anything Crafty.

She is survived by her husband - Wayne of the home, son - Jimmy Whitford of Terral, and daughter - Veronica Whitford of Ryan, son in law - Lukus Monette, siblings -Manuel Ruiz and Willie Ruiz, grandchildren -Gage Douglas Monette, Aurora Raeh Monette, and Gaetan Archer Monette.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter - Sandra Elaine "Sandy" Monette.

Graveside service for Mrs. Whitford will be Friday, February 16, 2024 at 11AM at the Ryan Cemetery with Ricky Phillips officiating. Visitation will be at Dudley Funeral Home from 9-10:30 AM on Friday before the service.
