Rubye Parker Benson was born May 26, 1928, in Hollis, Oklahoma, to Thomas Jefferson and Edna Lee (Colwell) Parker. She passed from this life Friday, May 17, 2024, in Waurika, Oklahoma, at the age 95. She worked for Del City Water Dept. and for a Colorado Resort for 4 years. She worked for Swaim for 40 years before retirement. She was a member of the Waurika Lions Club, Oklahoma Election Board, President of Senior Citizens, secretary of OHCE, and also a member of Providence Baptist Church.
She and Billy Bob Benson were married in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1981. She and Bill owned and operated Temple Hotel for 5 years.
She is survived by her husband Bill Benson, her children - Michael Ballew, Mitchel Ballew, Charles Goza, and Mike Fry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, twins Johnny and Tonnie Ballew, and sisters Tommie Jo McDonald and Connie Lee Webb, and husbands Robert Fry and Johnny Dale Ballew.
Graveside service for Mrs. Benson will be Monday, May 20, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Temple Cemetery, with Dee Bowen officiating.
