Robert Lynn Gamblin

Robert Lynn Gamblin of Hastings, Oklahoma was born Aug 9, 1945 to Leo Earl Gamblin and Grace Oklahoma Johnson Gamblin. He passed away Jul 24, 2026 at Temple ManorNursing Home in Temple, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents[George T Gamblin, Martha (Selvidge) Gamblin, Willis Floyd Johnson, and Willie Virginia (Miller) Johnson]; brother George Leo Gamblin; half-brother Jackie Lee Gamblin; half-sister Sandra Gayle Boice; and a cousin Wayne Smith and his wife Billy Smith.

He is survived by a half-brother Leo Earl Gamblin, Jr.; half-sister Judy Diane Gamblin; cousins Ramona Gamblin Wagnon, Jerry Smith, and Steve Smith; nieces; nephews; and many friends.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army then returned to Hastings as a long time resident where he farmed and raised cattle. He was a long-time member of the First Methodist Church and a member of the Christian Men's Club, both of Waurika. He served proudly for more than 25 years as a volunteer fireman with the Hastings fire department.

He is perhaps best known for his love for Hastings, his faith, his dedication as a volunteer fireman, his life as a cattleman, his out-going nature, and his appreciation for a good meal.

Funeral service for Mr. Gamblin will be Friday, July 31, 2026 at the Methodist church in Waurika, Oklahoma with Everett Hodges officiating. Interment will be in Hastings Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika.
