Minnie Belle Woods was born August 30, 1901, in Arkansas, to Mattie Georgia and James Turner. She passed from this life Sunday, December 15, 2002, in Nocona General Hospital, at the age of one hundred one. Minnie and Homer L. Woods were married January 17, 1920, in Beggs, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on December 25, 1979. Minnie was a homemaker and was very active in the First Christian Church in Norman.
Survivors include: one son, J.L. and his wife Betty Woods, of Ryan, OK, one brother, O.T. Turner of Indiana; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held for Mrs. Woods at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 18, 2002, at the United Methodist Church in Ryan with Rev. Steve Harshaw officiating. Graveside services were held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, December 18, 2002, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan.
