Martha Sue Combs, age 87, a longtime resident of Comanche, peacefully passed away on April 25, 2023 at her home.
Martha was born July 6, 1935 in Idabel, OK, to Charles and Ruthell (Allen) Turner. She graduated from Idabel High School, where she excelled in basketball. On December 24, 1953 she and Russell Combs were united in marriage in Wichita Falls, TX. Martha loved knitting, gardening, horses, and traveling. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Russell; one daughter, Connie Combs, of Comanche; two grandsons: Shawn Kirby and Clint Kirby, of Comanche; one sister, Betty Petty and husband Mark, Duncan, OK; and her fur baby, "Little Lady".
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruthell; one son, Craig Combs; siblings J.V. Turner, James Turner, Charles Turner, and Patsy Dockall.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
