LaVenia Ann (West) Mason

LaVenia Ann Mason was born May 18, 1936, to Lawrence Henderson and Flossie Ann Martin West in Comanche, Oklahoma. She passed from this life on Sunday, November 11, 2002, at Via Christi Riverside Hospital in Wichita, Kansas at the age of sixty-six.

Mrs. Mason worked as an LPN at Sedgwick Healthcare Center and was the former owner/operator of the Kozy Kitchen Cafe in Halstead, Kansas.

Survivors include: two sons - Greg D. Mason of Halstead, KS, and David D. Mason of Sedgwick, KS; one daughter - Lorri A. Nold of Agusta, KS; one sister - Betty DeMarco of Bazoria, TX; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Wilton, Lawrence, and Edward West, and her sisters, Dorothy West and Elsie Davis.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mason were held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 20, 2002, at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead, Kansas with Rev. James Bush officiating. Funeral services were under the direction of Kaufman Funeral Home of Halstead.

Graveside services were held for Mrs. Mason at 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 21, 2002, at Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche with Rev. Dow Pannell officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
