Kevin Ray Thompson

Kevin Ray Thompson was born on June 17, 1970 in Lovington, New Mexico to Ronnie Earl Thompson and Shirley (Griffin) Thompson. Kevin Ray passed from this life February 20, 2026 at OU Hospital after suffering heart issues. Kevin was raised in Stephenville and Dublin, Texas where he worked from a young age at the Griffin Pipe yard, numerous dairies, and Fibergrate in Erath County. In 1995 Kevin moved to Waurika Oklahoma where he worked as a truck driver, a plumber and a landscaper. Kevin enjoyed fishing, camping, riding four wheelers and riding his mini bike and lawnmower around Waurika. Kevin especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and his son Montana. He also enjoyed trapping hogs with his good friend Dru. Kevin was a devoted member of the Waurika First Baptist Church.

Kevin is survived by his son, Gauge Montana Thompson and Annalee Waggoner, Jamie Walley; grandchildren, Dixie and Kade Thompson; and brother Ronnie and his wife Jessica Thompson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Shelby, Shaley, Evan, Addison and Griffin Thompson of Waurika, Oklahoma.

Graveside services will be held at Smith Springs cemetery in Stephenville, Texas. A celebration of life will be Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 2:00PM at First Baptist Church in Waurika.
