Jose Domingo "Big Joe" Sanchez was born August 5, 1928 in Victoria, Texas to Epimenio and Juanita Valdez Sanchez. He passed from this life Wednesday, August 17, 2022 in Waurika, Oklahoma at the age of 94.

Jose worked for the City of Victoria for 9 years and was a ranch hand for the Price Cattle Company for 35 years. He was the last surviving cowboy of the original Price Cattle Company. He married Emelia McDonald October 29, 1949 in Victoria, Texas. He and Emelia loved to dance. He played dominoes and poker games. He loved his family.

He is survived by his son Jose "Joe" Sanchez and wife Christy of Waurika., daughters - Frances Vines of Bray and Sandy Goodin and husband Buddy of Waurika, son-in-law Roger Black, sister Sandy Balboa and husband Antonio of Victoria, Texas, 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, daughter Josie Black, 2 granddaughters Emily Sanchez and Shea Self, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral service for Jose will be Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 10:30AM at First Baptist Church in Waurika with Mike Bates officiating. Burial will be in the Addington Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Viewing will be Friday from 10AM-7:30PM with a Rosary held at 6PM at Dudley Funeral Home.
