Joni Collins, 61, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025. Born on November 11, 1963, in Abilene, Texas, to Norma Land and Max Land, Joni lived a life of strength, faith, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Growing up in the rugged beauty of Alaska, Joni developed a resilient and independent spirit that defined her character. She was a devoted Christian and her deep faith provided guidance and comfort throughout her life.
Joni served with commitment and integrity at the Oregon Department of Corrections, retiring after years of impactful service. Following her career, she entered medical retirement, facing health challenges with the same courage and grace that marked her life, living her last years in Terral Oklahoma near her mom, Norma Land.
She is survived by her loving mother, Norma Land; father, Max Land; and brother, Greg Land. Joni's warmth, kindness, and enduring spirit will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held in Terral Oklahoma at Terral First Baptist Church on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life lunch for the family to honor Joni's memory.
