Joan (Porterfield) Lovett

Joan Lovett was born on August 8, 1941, to Barney and Minnie Porterfield. One of 15 children, she grew up in Claypool, Oklahoma, and graduated from Ringling High School in 1959.

On August 27, 1962, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Joan married the love of her life, Ceburn Lovett. Together, they made their home in Burkburnett, Texas, before settling in Waurika, Oklahoma, in 1972, where they built a life and raised their three children.

Joan worked alongside Ceburn in their Culligan Water business before beginning a career with Bartling Insurance, where she remained until her retirement.

Joan is survived by seven siblings; her three children and their families: Andrea Giezentanner and husband Jay, Macy Lovett and wife Lori, and Lisa Adkins and husband Tim; and her beloved grandchildren, Alexandra Horton and husband Hunter, Magen, Dakota and Blake Lovett, Josh Lewis and wife Maegan, Jarod Lewis, and Chloe and Mallory Adkins. She also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren: Hollis Horton, Jaden Talley, Ragen Williams, Anna, Connor, Nila and Inge Lewis.

Joan passed from this life on October 31, 2026, surrounded by her family at Sunset Estates in Purcell, Oklahoma. She will be remembered and cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Graveside service will be Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at 1:00PM
at Waurika cemetery with Biff Eck officiating. Services are under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Memorial contributions may be made to the Waurika Church of Christ.
