James L. Whitecotton was born May 30, 1943 in Waurika, Oklahomato Fannie (Byrd) and Levert Whitecotton. He passed from this life Thursday, November 28, 2024 in Wichita Falls, Texas at the age of 81. He graduated from Waurika High School. He and Glenda Geraldine Emerson were married January 20, 1962 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She preceded him in death December 23, 2008. He owned and operated Whitecotton Paint and Drywall for many years. He was a founder of the Hastings Fire Department and previous mayor of Hastings.
He is survived by his 2 children - Mike Whitecotton and wife Bernice and Jeff Whitecotton, sister -June Howard, 4 grandchildren - Morgan Whitecotton, Jeremy Whitecotton and wife Ashley, Dustin Whitecotton and wife Colleen, and Nina Marie Whitecotton.
Graveside service will be Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 11AM at Hastings Cemetery with Bryce Bohot officiating.
