Gloria Jean (Payne) Person

Gloria Jean Person was born on November 17, 1940 in Hastings, Oklahoma to Paul S. and Bonnie Mary (Schooley) Payne. She passed from this life on Friday, June 19, 2026 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Gloria attended school in Hastings until her senior year graduating from Waurika High School in 1959. Gloria and Perry Wayne Person were married June 17, 1960 in Hastings, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death May 26, 2007. Gloria worked as a seamstress at Haggar Mfg. in Temple for many years and also at Basco Leather Goods. She was a member of the Hastings Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of Hastings Baptist church since 1960. She enjoyed placing flags at the graves of the military on special holidays. Gloria was also a big supporter of the Hastings Senior Citizens.

Gloria is survived by her children, Susan Whitfield and David of Diana, Texas and Sandy Bartling and husband Ross of Waurika, Oklahoma; Grandchildren, Lindsey Goen and husband Clinton, Daniel Whitfield and wife Laurie, Reece Bartling and wife Collett, Skylar Jenkins and husband Zackry; great grandchildren, Katelyn, Colten, Jackson, Abigail, Oliver, and a granddaughter due in August.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wayne; siblings, Paul Payne Jr. "Bud", R.B. Payne, Virginia McKeel, Ruth Staats, Ken Douglas Payne, and Hearl J. Payne.

A private burial was held in Hastings cemetery.
