George Harvey McCoy Jr, a resident of Waurika, peacefully passed away Thursday morning, November 10, 2022, in a Wichita Falls, TX hospital. He was 71 years old. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church, located north of Comanche, with Bro. Charles McConnell and Bro. Dee Bowen officiating. Burial will follow at Hastings Cemetery, under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home. Viewing will be Thursday 12:00-7:00, with the family receiving friends from 5:00-7:00.

George was born November 27, 1950, in Lancaster, PA, to George and Dolores (Wilcox) McCoy. After graduating high school and college he worked as a dental technician until his retirement. He and Kathleen Gardner were united in marriage on December 19, 1991, in Chesapeake, VA. In 2018 they moved to Oklahoma. George enjoyed going on road trips, fishing, hunting, and especially loved going to the beach. George took great pleasure in being able to spend time with his grandchildren. George also loved his dog, Robert, who was always by his side.

His survivors include his wife Kathleen, and three children: Danya Brinson and husband Justin from Temple, OK, Katie McCoy Girnus and husband Chad from Colorado Springs, CO, and Matthew McCoy and wife Shana from Kenai, AK; one brother, Jay McCoy and wife Nancy, Falls Church, VA; two sisters: Kathy McCoy, Birmingham, AL, and Cheryl McCoy, Daphne, AL; three grandchildren: Jayden, Sephora, and Beckett; and many other relatives and friends.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dolores McCoy.
