Ferman Loyd Kimbro was born July 6, 1945 in Rush Springs, OK to Frank & Flora Kimbro. He passed from this life on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in Ryan, OK, at the age of 77. Loyd was one of thirteen children. He graduated from Rush Springs High School. Prior to retirement, he served as county commissioner for Jefferson county.

Loyd always had a joke prepared, a Dr. Pepper in one hand, and a cigarette in the other. He always got a kick out of aggravating his grandkids. Loyd was easy to love and was lovingly referred to by his family as “Poppy Bro”. When he was telling you goodbye, he would say, “Have a Smurfy day!”, thus becoming a staple phrase among family members.

Loyd is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Kimbro, his parents, seven brothers, and three sisters. He leaves behind four children: Richard and wife, Jamie, of Minco, OK, Terri Sheffield and husband, Charles, of Ryan, OK, Randy and partner, Desiree, of Ryan, OK, and Timmy and wife, Trina, of Lone Grove, OK. Additionally, he leaves behind three step-children, Brian Dalton and wife, Crystal, of Ryan, OK, Tinny Lynn Spruill and husband, Jason, of Rhome, TX, Jerrida Copeland and husband, Trey, of Waco, TX, two sisters, Flonnie and Florene, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great neighbor and friend, Loyd Whitsett.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2022, at the Ryan church of Christ at 2pm with David Wingfield officiating.
