Cecil Venson Duke

Cecil Venson Duke, 78, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025 in a Fort Worth, TX hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 13th at 2:00 p.m. at the Terral First Baptist Church, with Bro. Mark Kunkel officiating. Interment will follow at Ringgold Cemetery, under the direction of Terral Funeral Home. Viewing will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Terral Baptist Church.

Cecil was born December 8, 1946 in Terral, to Harvey Venson Duke and Ida Beatrice (Rimmer) Duke. He worked as a carpenter. He loved watching western movies and television shows. More than anything else, Cecil loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by a son, Jerry Duke and wife JoAnn, Fort Worth, TX; a daughter, Angela Duke, Ringgold, TX; two brothers: Clifford Duke and wife Patsy, Terral, OK; and Tommy Duke, Palestine, TX; two sisters: Linda Sue Duke, Sunset, TX; and Debra Webb and husband Larry, Rocky Comfort, MO; four grandchildren: Shane, Chase, Zak ,and Shaeye; and five great-grandchildren: Lillie, Kale, Brynlee, Kennedy, and Cecil.

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and one brother.

Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Duke, Chase Duke, Worth Durham, Marlan Franklin, Todd Skinner, and Randy Hardee.
