Bobbie Nell (Corky) Weatherly

Bobbie Nell Weatherly (Corky), a cherished resident of Terral, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2024 at the age of 93. Corky was born on April 9, 1931, in Fleetword, Oklahoma to Howard and Donnie Hinsley. She spent her entire life in the embrace of her beloved Terral community.

On August 3, 1947, Corky embarked on a lifelong journey with her beloved husband, Kenneth Weatherly. Together, they cultivated a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and hard work. Their days were adorned with the toil of farming watermelons, a labor of love that echoed their commitment to their land and each other.

Corky’s presence was a radiant beacon in Terral, her kindness touching the lives of all fortunate to know her. She possessed a warmth that could light up the darkest of days and her gentle spirit left an indelible mark on the hearts of those around her.

In addition to her dedication to God, family, and community, Corky was known for her unwavering strength and resilience, which guided her through life's challenges with grace and fortitude.

Corky leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication not only to her family and community but to her church. She loved her church family and always followed God’s word. While her physical presence may be gone, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Donnie Hinsley; husband, Kenneth (Tater); sisters, Mary Lou Newsom and Tooter Alsup; and grandson, Russell Weatherly.

She is survived by her three sons, Darrel Weatherly and wife Delores of Bowie, Texas; Mike Weatherly and wife Lanette of Terral, Oklahoma; Rusty Weatherly and wife Carol of Terral, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Becky Sanders and husband Jason of Bowie, Texas; Trisha Dillard and husband Charles of Decatur, Texas; Melissa Beseda and husband Matt of West, Texas; grandsons, Michael Weatherly and fiancé Roscella of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; Reggie Weatherly and wife Paula of Jenks, Oklahoma; David Weatherly and wife Monica of Tuscola, Texas; Brian Weatherly of Vernon, Texas; Steven Weatherly and wife Casey of Sanger, Texas; along with 21 great-grandchildren and three great, great-grandchildren. Each will carry her memory forward with love and reverence.

A celebration of Corky's life will be held at First Baptist Church in Terral, Oklahoma on May 11, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Her viewing will be held at the Terral Funeral Home, where friends and family will gather to honor and remember the remarkable woman whose light will forever shine bright in the hearts of those who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Terral First Baptist Church or Terral Cementary.
