Mary Katherine (Smart) Brackett

Mary Katherine Brackett was born December 24, 1957 in Waurika, Oklahoma to Dorothy Pritchard and William Ray Smart. She passed from this life July 20, 2026 in Wichita Falls, Texas at the age of 68. She was a 1976 graduate of Waurika High School. She and Jessee Wallis Brackett were married August 13, 1977 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She worked for Basco's Leather Goods for many years as a stitcher. She enjoyed working as a dishwasher for Bill's Fish House after retirement. She also enjoyed crafting, sewing, ziplining and online shopping. She always baked the desserts for family Thanksgiving and Christmas. She also loved attending the Moose Lodge with her husband and listening to him sing karaoke and hanging out with friends. She adored her grandchildren and made sure each of them had hand crafted ornaments on her Christmas tree every year. She also made each of them sleepwear and mobiles to go above their cribs when they were babies. Everything was stitched with love.

She was preceded in death by her parents William Ray Smart and Dorothy Pritchard Smart Rivera, bonus dad Rudy Rivera, Sr., and sister Becky.

She is survived by her husband Jessee; children, Jessee Brackett, Jr. and wife Meagan, Stephanie Kennedy and husband Jerry, Alisha Breitigan and husband Mike; 17 grandchildren, Lundee, Landon, Lathan, Cason, Kiera, Holdyn, Walter Jr., Cara, Logan, Westin, Lettie, Summer, James, Alexa, Bella, Maggie, and Zepplin; 5 great grandchildren, Asher, Baker, Archer, Benson, and Katherine; Siblings Rudy Rivera and wife Michelle, and Lynn Smart.

A celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, August 2, 2026 at noon at Moose Lodge in Duncan.
