Steve Veal

Steve Veal was born November 22, 1943 in Ringgold, Texas to Charles "Hoot" and Vera (Carter) Veal. He passed from this life Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at the age of 82. Steve served his country in the United States Army and also in the National Guard. He was a truck driver for over 40 years hauling various loads and answering to "Horsefly" on his CB radio. He and Evelin Reid Wurtz were married March 6, 1998 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a member of the Terral Assembly of God Church. He was a cowboy at heart and enjoyed fishing, camping and boating and was a professional piddler. He was always keeping everything neat and tidy at home, in his workspace and his appearance. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife Evelin Wurtz Veal; daughter, Amy Veal Ruffin and husband Cedric; son, Brandon Veal; brother, James "Smokey" Veal and wife Dee; six grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 4 bonus children, 13 bonus grand children and 8 bonus great grand children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoot and Vera; and siblings, Billy Joe Veal, Louise Smith, Charles "Buddy" Veal, Kenneth "Skeeter" Veal, and Ruth Imogene Veal.

Funeral service for Mr. Veal will be Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Terral Assembly of God with Weldon Wright officiating. Interment will be in the Terral Cemetery under the direction of Terral Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-7PM on Friday.at the Terral Funeral Home.
