Howard "Kirk" Martin Kirk

Howard "Kirk" Martin Kirk, Jr. died at the age of 82, a year and one day after the death of his son, Bryan Edward Kirk. Kirk was born on September 19, 1942, to the late Howard and Angie Kirk. He grew up In Omaha, Nebraska and graduated from Holy Name Catholic High School. He attended South Dakota State College where he earned an academic and football scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy. He married Diane Louise Mulick the summer of 1967. Soon after graduation they moved with their two young girls (Kymberly and Kelly) to Elk Grove Village a suburb of Chicago. He was a pharmacist in downtown Chicago for many years. His two younger children (Kristen and Bryan) were born in Elk Grove Village. In 1979, they moved to Vernon, Texas where he owned and operated a small family pharmacy, "Vernon Drug" following in the footsteps of his father also a pharmacist who owned and operated a small fountain pharmacy, "Kirk Pharmacy" in Omaha, Nebraska.
Kirk eventually moved to Gainesville, TX where he met and married Kris. She had 6 boys from a previous marriage. They eventually adopted 10 children from Vietnam. He proudly put on his Facebook post that he was the father of 20 children.
He is survived by his wife, Kris of the home. He is also survived by two of his four biological children, Kymberly Jo Cullar from Wichita Falls, TX and her 3 children (Chloe, Claire, and Connor) and his daughter Kristen Beth (John Caplinger) and their 4 children: (Hannah, Jonah, Jeremiah and Priscilla) from Sylva, North Carolina. He is also survived by Kelly's three children; Olivia, Sophia, and Natalia and his daughter in law (Bryan's wife) Rina Kirk. His great grandchildren: Layla Cullar and Eliana Cullar and Jerimiah and John Caplinger.
He is also survived by 3 of his 4 siblings: Sharon Kirk Cole (Bob) of Gregory, Michigan, his 2 brothers Kenneth Kirk (Julie) from Austin, TX and Gary Kirk (Suzanne) from Melbourne, Florida.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Howard and Angie Kirk, his younger sister, Tracy Kirk, the mother of his four children along with his son, Bryan Edward Kirk and daughter Kelly Louise Toris.
A rosary will be held at 6:00pm at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Gainesville, TX. on Tuesday, September 2nd followed by a service/mass on Wednesday September 3rd at 10:00 am at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Gainesville, Texas.
