Eldon "EJ" James Proctor Jr.

Eldon James "EJ" Proctor, Jr. was born May 28, 1934 in Waurika, Oklahoma to Hazel Pauline (Turner) and Eldon James Proctor, Sr. EJ passed from this life on April 7, 2025 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Mr. Proctor was a 1952 graduate of Waurika Public Schools. He attended Cameron University. He worked for Halliburton until he joined the United States Navy in 1955 where He served his country for 2 years. He worked for the Wichita Falls Police Department from 1958-1966. He also worked at Wichita National Life Insurance in Lawton until he retired in 1999. He and Carlyn Glynn Feemster were married November 21, 1962 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He enjoyed woodworking in his 2 shops and was extremely talented in making furniture and crafts. He also loved the outdoors, doing yard work, and landscaping.
He and Carlyn loved to travel, go to the casino, and ballroom dance. They won several trophies ballroom dancing and even made it on the show "Club Dance" in Nashville, Tennessee at the White Horse Saloon. He was a member of the National Association of Atomic Veterans. Mr Proctor was the recipient of The Atomic Veterans medal awarded for Unique Service in Support of Nuclear Deterrence by President Trump.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Carlyn in 2016.

He is survived by his children -Kyle Proctor, James Dunn, Marilyn Gatewood and Glynda McBride and husband Glen, brother - Don Proctor and wife Anne, grandchildren - Troy and wife Akaylah, Erica and her husband Jacob, Taylor and wife Clara, Cameron, Sandra, Deana, and Jennifer, and 23 great grandchildren, Niece - Alysia Attebery and husband Justin, nephews Scott Proctor and Bret Proctor.

Funeral service will be Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 11:00AM at Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika with Mike Bates officiating. Burial will be in the Waurika Cemetery. Viewing will be from 9-11AM Saturday.
