Jerry Wayne Wilkerson

Jerry Wayne Wilkerson was born December 4, 1948 in Comanche, Oklahoma to Albert Leroy Wilkerson and Ivy Beatrice Clayton Wilkerson. Jerry left this earth on September 21, 2023, at 9:41 pm, at the age of 74, in his home in Halllsville, Texas, surrounded by his wife, girls, son in law and grandkids.

Jerry grew up in Waurika, Oklahoma. He graduated from Waurika High in 1968. After graduation Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in the Vietnam War. On September 7, 1974 he married Donna Lynn Helms in Waurika, Oklahoma, whom he was married to for 49 years and 2 weeks. Jerry and Donna first made their home in Sugden, Oklahoma. They moved to Hobbs, New Mexico and then back to Waurika. Oklahoma where Jerry ran his own paint contracting company. Over the last 8 years Jerry resided in Longview, Texas and Hallsville, Texas. To this union was born three girls, Jeri Lynn, Jaclyn Dawn and Jolyn Kaye. Jerry was the happiest when he was spending time with his grandchildren, going to all their activities and watching them grow.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother and father, his sisters, Linda, Shirley, and Margie, his father and mother in law Lewis and Ruth Helms.

He was also preceded in death by his son in law Jeff Brown. Jerry is survived by his wife of the home, Donna Lynn Helms Wilkerson, his three daughters, Jeri Lynn Wilkerson, Jaclyn Dawn Brown, Jolyn Kaye Hawkins (Ryan), all of Hallsville, Texas, seven grandchildren, Lewis, Jerry Jackson, and Donnlyn Hawkins and Jaxon and Jeffrey Brown. His mother, Ruby Wilkerson. His siblings Gene, Roger and Mike (Sheri), and Patty Bryant. Along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service for Mr. Wilkerson will be Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 11:00AM at the Waurika Church of Christ. Viewing will be Tuesday from 10AM-7PM with family receiving visitors from 6-7PM at Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Interment will follow in the Waurika Cemetery.
