Virginia Mae (Peterson) Tanner, 90, of Terral, OK passed away peacefully on Friday morning, September 2nd, 2022.

Visitation will be Monday, September 5th, at the Dudley Funeral Home in Terral from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., family will be in attendance from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Ryan, Oklahoma, burial will follow in the Terral Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home.

Virginia was born on October 11, 1931 near Terral, Oklahoma to Willis & Ida Mae (Henderson) Peterson. She attended school at Terral Public School and graduated in 1949. She married Toby Tanner on August 6th, 1949 in Henrietta, TX.

Virginia farmed & ranched in Jefferson County most of her adult life, she was a Baptist. Throughout her life she was an active promoter of the Terral Community.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Toby Tanner, grandson Derrick Douglas Hamm and parents, Willis (“Slim”) & Ida Mae Peterson.

Virginia is survived by her daughters & sons in law, Myra Tanner Hamm & David, of Terral, Debbie Tanner of Terral, and Connie Tanner Chambers & Mike of Petrolia, TX. Grandchildren, Ty Chambers & Wendy of Bluegrove, TX, Shelby Hamm Lamar & Kay of Claremont, CA, Sean Hamm & Kim of Elk City, OK, Michael Chambers Cassle & Clay of Leedey, OK. Great, grandchildren, Tres, Lathe & Teal Cassle, Ella & Mattingley Hamm and Parker Lamar, Hailey Bowers Chambers & Landrey Epps Chambers. One sister, Alpha Peterson Hall of Ryan, OK, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
