Gladys Louise Bess

Gladys Louise Bess, 90, of Blanchard, died Sunday, July 22, 2001, in Norman Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Bess was born October 9, 1910, in Granger, Texas. She married Guy Bess on August 9, 1935, in Walters, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in July of 1994. She was a homemaker and a member of the Corum Baptist Church.

Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and George Talley, of Newcastle, Oklahoma; two brothers, James and Weldon Brooks, both of Duncan, Oklahoma; two sisters, Frances Williams of Dallas, Texas, and Helen Cole of Wolfforth, Texas; a sister-in-law, Edna Vanzant of Comanche, Oklahoma; two grandchildren and their spouses, Dennis and Gaye Lynn Talley of Newcastle and Russell and Christine Talley of Lausanne, Switzerland; four great-grandchildren, Mark, Eileen, Rachel and Jessica Talley; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Funeral services were at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 25, 2001 in the Corum Baptist Church with Bruce Humphries officiating. Burial was in the Blanchard Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Center.
